What does it mean when the orange choke light appears on the dashboard for about 10 seconds when going 55mph+?

I have a Vauxhall Astra 1994, and when I drive it at 55mph or more, the orange choke light (I assume this is what this light represents) comes on for about 10 seconds, then goes off again. It may do this once every 7-8 minutes at this speed, but sometimes it appears once and doesn't come back on, even after half an hour on the motorway.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The bulb works!!! ;o) --- seriously though-- get it checked out as if you've a fault somewhere it will only get worse and could even do damage.
Reply:faulty wiring

get it checked
Reply:Sounds like there may be a problem with the wiring from the choke sensor.
