You should buy a cheapo pumpkin from walmart and make a sacrifice under the full moon to the great pumpkin and ask him to put the touch on your pumpkin.

Seriously, the other two poster gave you good info. Make sure you let your seeds dry out, because if you put them in a sealed plastic bag in the sun it will act like a green house and grow them. I would say to let them dry out and put them in some thing where they can get air and put them some where dark or better yet, you can put them in a zip lock bag and put them in the freezer. They will stratify and start faster when planted in the spring.
Reply:Leave it on the vine. If it has enough sun and it is an orange variety, it wll turn orange on its own. Save some seeds by keepng them in a dark, cool, and dry place; away from heat and moisture.
Reply:I had a pumpkin stay green until Christmas.Leave it on the vine as long as you can.The seeds are probably hybrid seeds so don't try to use them next season.
