How do I bleach my naturally orange hair at home?

Yes, I'm super Irish! I have a question about bleach. My hair is naturally a bright ginger orange (not dark at all), I died it brown a couple of months ago, but the roots are way grown out now. I wan't to mink my hair at home (dark brown/black on bottom, bleach blond on top). Going to a salon is really not an option and I've heard bleaching naturally red hair is difficult. What home bleach kit do you recommend, if any? HELP!

Just shave it, and paint your cranium the color that you want your hair to be. When it grows back, it'll pick up the paint and be that color. Trust me!
Reply:I know what you're talking about, one of my friends has naturally orange/red hair. This may take forever to prepare so.. I would suggest you buy some strong bleach along with ash colouring, or something to counterattack the orange colour in your hair. Then when it's more blondish dye it black or the dark brown colour you wanted. When that's done get some more bleach (strong bleach that is) and just apply it to whichever parts of your hair you wanted it to be bleach blond, but remember to keep it away from the bottom if you want that to stay dark brown/black.
Reply:I bleach my hair constantly, and it's never fallen out so don't listen to that crap... anyway, use Loreal Color Experte 9.0 is a beautiful color, it is under $20 and you can get it at walmart. It is by far my fav and comes with a highlighting kit so your hair isn't one bland color at the end.
Reply:well if you dont want to damage your hair if you put lemon juice (not from concentrate the real stuff) in your hair and stay in the sun it will lighten your hair naturally ifs not as drasic a change as bleach but it wont kill ur hair
Reply:I would try (Sally's beauty supply) if you have one in your area, they have everything you need plus help you pick the right stuff.
Reply:I dont really think you should bleach your hair since your hair is orange ?!? maybe go to the hairdressers and ask about it .
