How do you tone down the orange in my hair?

I recently dyed my hair at a salon, and I hate it. Instead of coming out brown, my base color is close to orange. And my highlights are also an orange color. I want to dye over it but I spent like $150 on my hair! It would be a waste of money. Is there anything I can do at home to tone down that orange color? Something that I can get at Sally's or something? Maybe the color corrector? Please help! Graduation is coming up and I want to look my best!

How do you tone down the orange in my hair?
Yes, there are at-home products that will remove the brassiness from your color or you can use a color-depositing shampoo/condition - Artec makes a really good product that I use to help blend highlights and get me through another week before coloring!

But honestly, I would go back to your stylist and ask her to fix your hair. It's absolutely ridiculous to spend that much money and not be happy with the result.

Exactly why I do my own hair at home. It's much easier to re-color at $7-10 per box!

Good Luck!!
Reply:could go back to the salon and tell them they screwed up or you could get the john Freda hair product (shampoo and conditioner) for brunets that will help tone it down.
Reply:why didn't you complain?Once my hair stylist coloured my hair way to light, so she re did no cost
Reply:When you pay that much for something and your not happy you should call your stylist and ask him/her to fix it. Especially if its not what you asked for, no matter how long she was working on you and your sister. Any reputable stylist would fix it free of charge especially since your hair is orange and i personally dont know to many people that ask for that hair color. Also orange is a very hard color to get out of your hair i would be especially careful about trying to do it yourself. You might do more damage to it than has already been done.
Reply:if you want to color it on your own go to a store that sells professional hair color to the public and get a color with a blue base to neutralize the orange. while youre there try picking up a deep conditioning treatment like joico k pac intense hydrating therapy
Reply:well, if u wash it out really good in every shower u take til graduation, it might tone down and look rele good. also, try wearing colors that make it seem more suttle, u kno? hats help too. maybe buy a product (spray, shampoo and condtioner, etc) to help. BEDHEAD products always work the best its awesome they have products 4 literally every hair type and probelm, i kno!!!
Reply:For now, get some shampoo with bluing agents in them. They are temperary and will tone. You know, the kinds that the elderly use. Just don't go crazy with it.
