How can you quickly get rid of the smell of oranges on your hands after peeling an orange to eat it?

I cannot seem to wash the smell off after I've peeled an orange. My hands stink of citrus for hours, despite washing my hands 5 times with soap.

I love the way oranges smell!
Reply:hand santizer or soak ur hands in soybean or milk but that a waste of milk isn't it lol
Reply:Wash hands with handwash or handwash spray.
Reply:If you'd like your hands to smell wonderful, try this.

Add 1 cup warm water to a bowl, half a teaspoon of brown sugar and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Rub your hands with the mixture after stirring thoroughly, and then rinse with warm water.

OR, you can simply wash your hands with a scented soap, and it will cover the smell. The oils that come from the peel contain wax and oils that are absorbed in to the pores, but don't worry, it'll only stay a couple of hours, as your skin is not used to the foreign oils

Here's a tip for the girls, too.. If you want really shiny hair, rub the OUTSIDE of the orange peel down your hair in a straight line, starting from the scalp. The oils will nourish and replenish some of the damage done to hair folicles.. And the smell washes away. Normally the smell isn't even strong enough to notice, though.
Reply:I like the smell of oranges. At least your hands don't smell like fish or garlic!
Reply:Actually, I think I'd rather smell like an orange than like garlic (or chili peppers). Dove (the soap company) manufactures various liquid hand soaps, one of which is a "deodorizing" kind. I tried it earlier this year, and now I can't live without it.

It works really well; you just wash your hands normally--one time--and whatever you've been handling, the smell is gone. If your kitchen sink has a garbage disposal, it'll deodorize that, too.
Reply:try putting baking soda in with the soap and leave it on as long as possible....the soda should take out the smell!!!

then try putting on a strong, good smelling lotion!!!!
Reply:wash your hands with purell
Reply:Try rubbing your hands on something stainless steel - works for me with garlic and I would think will do the trick for just about any strong smell. I use my kitchen faucet after I peel garlic and it does the trick.
Reply:Give up the smell will stay with you forever. Learn to love it atleast its not poop.
Reply:would you prefer onion, bleach or pine cheaner?
