What is the most efficient way to peel an orange?

I just ate an orange, and I really had to struggle to peel it by hand, which kindof deminished the experience for me lol. Is there some sort of style that works the best for peeling an orange?

What is the most efficient way to peel an orange?
i peel them in one long spiraling piece starting at the top...lol

it takes a while but its fun, and that way i only have to stop at the garbage after and not stand over it
Reply:i like to cut it in half, grab one of the halves in a hand, a spoon in the other..and dig in! :) it works out great! %26amp;my hands don't smell like oranges when i'm done :D) xoxoxox♥
Reply:I get a knife of fork and start from the top. This is kinda personal but i bite my nails so i dont have long nails. if u have long nails that can work too. anyway, i start w/ the fork and peel a little piece to start, than i do the rest w/ my nails.
Reply:Use the tip of a sharp knife to score the rind completely around the orange running in the same direction as the segments. Repeat this at right angles from the 1st score. Lop the top and bottom off and run the knife tip under the skin at the top and bottom. The 4 peel segments can now be easily removed
Reply:I cut mine in quarters and then grab one end and sort of slide my thumb under the peel to speerate the wedge from the peel.

Mmm I love oranges!

Street vendors in Central America used this machine... peeling about 2/3's of the orange... then cut a hole in the top and you suck out the juice and the pulp... very refreshing on a hot day
