How do I press the orange fret button on Guitar Hero?

Does anyone know of a comfortable position to hold the Orange Button on GH? It hurts to try and use my pinky for the blue and orange fret, while holding my ring on yellow, middle on red, and index on blue. I also get confused when I try and just move my hand along the handle to hit the orange button, and end up missing a lot of notes. Any tips?

the best way is to hold your fingers on the first four frets, then move it down when the orange comes up. I know you find this difficult, so try practising it. A good song for this is schools out
Reply:Keep your fingers on the red, yellow, blue and orange frets. It is much easier getting your index finger to the green fret than it is getting your pinky to the orange fret. Its the same as the "normal" fingering but you move your hand a fret down.
Reply:What i do that works for me is have your little finger on the orange the whole time and no fingers on the green so when you need to hit green move your hand up one button its an easier finger transition and it works well
