Reply:Because bananas are the same color as lemons. We would confuse them. =)
Reply:I think the color's name comes from the fruit's, not vice versa. If we wanted to, we could call the color yellow the color banana or the color lemon. Like, the sun shines banana light.
Ever heard someone say something was the color plum, or violet? Same story.
Reply:Give us some time. We already call cabbages and Brussels sprouts, etc., greens. We're getting there. Chrome wasn't built in a day!
