I got back from walking my dog and she went to lie down when I noticed this nasty orange puss oozing out of her left paw. I'm not sure what it is and why it is there.
Why is this strange orange puss coming out of my dogs left paw?
she has an infection in the wound on her paw. soak it in warm epsom salted water for about 10 minutes 3 times a day until it stops oozing. apply thick white honey or an antibiotic cream and try to cover it with gauze then repeat in a few hours.if it is still oozing and red or she gets feverish take her in to the vet. make sure there is nothing stuck in the sore that is causing this to be infected, she has had this for a while for it to be this infected. watch it close and don't hesitate to take her in if does not heal. best of luck
Reply:ewww. thats gross. go to your vet. puss is never good. she might have worms or stepped on something sharp and now has an infection.
Reply:It is an infection. Maybe she stepped on something or just cut it. Soak it in warm salt water. That should open the wound and help it drain. She should go to the vet and get some antibiotics to help her heal.
Reply:THE BIGGEST THING IS TO KEEP IT CLEAN, APPLY PEROXIDE TO THE WOUND AND WRAP IT IN A BANDAGE, YOU SHOULD GO TO YOUR VET AND MAYBE GET SOME ANTIBIOTICS TO PREVENT INFECTION IF IT ISNT ALREADY!!
Reply:Clean the wound with Hibiscrub, i live in the uk and you can buy it from the vets but it may be cheaper going to a chemist to buy it. I wouldn't walk your dog till it is healed and if it is still bad in a few day consider taking it to the vet. Keep a close eye on your dog, if it is causing it pain straight to the vet
Reply:Your dog has an infection in her foot and walking her most likely made it bust open now you have to go to your vet to see what is wrong.
From the way you say she has had for awhile you never noticed her limping before this? Most dogs will limp or hold leg up and not use. see your vet to ck out foot other wise it will get worse.
