How do you make an orange tree produce fruit?

I have a four year old orange tree i grew from a seed


of an orange i was eating.


it's getting pretty big.


about 5ft. in a pot. i'm in arkansas and have no access to other orange trees how can i pollinate it?

Use a paint brush to pollinate and then take an apple and slice it and place the pieces on top of the soil. Cover the soil tightly from the edge of the pot to the trunk of the tree with clear plastic wrap. Apples that rot (ferment) produce methane gas that infuses into the soil creating a catalyst for fruit bearing cells to kick into "Drive." You can still water the plant by peeling back the plastic wrap.

Reply:Most citrus these days are grafted. So, what you got from seed might not be what you wanted.





Or you might just need to fertilize. You didn't say it was blooming. If it is, bees will pollinate it.
